What is The Spanish Society of Medical Physics?

The Spanish Society of Medical Physics (SEFM) is created as a scientific society in 1974 with the aim of promoting and developing medical physics and its scientific and professional aspects. The SEFM brings together professionals who develop their activities related to medical physics in the areas of clinical assistance, research education and industry. Currently, the SEFM is composed of about 700 members.

Since 2000, the SEFM publishes "Revista de Física Médica" (Journal of Medical Physics) as a body of scientific communication, technical and professional education, and where papers coming from the scientific community are published at the discretion of the Editorial Committee and the Scientific Committee. It also has this web site (www.sefm.es) as a means of communication and information between members and the society. The SEFM participates in forums for joint action between companies and institutions, and maintaining dynamic relations and cooperation with national and regional institutions.

In the field of international collaboration, the SEFM is a member of international organizations in Medical Physics: International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) and European Federation of Organizations in Medical Physics (EFOMP). Also maintains special relations and collaboration with Latin American societies and with other national and international societies of their operating environment.
